From Strife into Destiny

One day an angel appeared to me and asked why I was so sad. I replied with “Because God hates me.”

She leaned down and kissed my forehead. “My child, God could never hate one of her children. What makes you say such things?”

Through tears I said, “If god loves me then why do I suffer so?”

The angel smiled lovingly and said sweetly, “God knows you are strong. That’s why she gave you so much strife. It is in strife and suffering that makes us evolve. We must grow in order to live. Besides she is using you as an example for others to see that hope will take you farther than your legs.”

“But I don’t want to lead anyone!” I protested fruitlessly.

“That’s too bad; however it is your destiny nonetheless. You can neither run nor hide.”

“Destiny-smesity!”

I thought it was all a load of crap, but time proved her right, and here I sit as testament to what a little hope can do. So as I sit in my wheelchair, I roll onward into the future toward my destiny. Accepting strife you cannot avoid is never easy, but worth it in the end. Grace has brought me out of hell and into a bright future.
