Step Out on Faith

I am Divine DIVA, the author of the articles Hold On to Your Vision Part 1 and 2. For those of you who have read my stories and blessed me with your sincere words of appreciation and support, thank you.

Since I actually wrote these articles and as the year 2007 is coming to a close, God has done a tremendous thing in my life. I have a vision for a Women’s Health Ministry. I first began by trying to promote this ministry in my church to only discover that this was not the season or the time. I encountered obstacle upon obstacle and endured much pain. For about five years now, I have been struggling with leaving my home church. Being a family church and all, the decision has been a rather difficult one. But, the Lord reminded me through His word that even Jesus had to leave His hometown, which was in Jerusalem to be used by God and to spread the gospel. For about a year now, I had become more and more miserable in my church and it seems like God kept allowing it to get worse, so that he could propel me into my destiny. Sometimes, we become rebellious, fearful, and down right disobedient. Three weeks ago, something else happened in my church that finally made me look to the hills from which cometh my help (Psalm 121). I was led to say yes to God denying my own feelings, wishes, and dreams.

I have finally stepped out of my comfort zone. I have stepped out on faith. I have never felt so free and so at peace. Sometimes it’s so hard for women in ministry because society has made it a gender thing. God uses men and women in the gospel. The Word of God tells us in Genesis 1 that we are made in His image. That means all of us both male and female. So I challenge you today, whether you are a woman in the making or a woman in the ministry, step out on faith and trust God in the upcoming New Year for the desires of your heart according to His will. I have allowed people and pain to paralyze me spiritually to the point that I felt like I couldn’t pray or praise. I have been on antidepressants and i have even wanted to die rather than face life itself. You my sister are an awesome masterpiece. God created you with purpose. He never promised us that life would be easy. You are powerful. Act on the authority that Christ has placed within you (Luke 10:19). Forget about your past failures and the people that have hurt you, rejected you, lied on you, stepped on you, and left you. God is greater than any problem that you will ever face. You are gifted. You are talented. Someone needs your gifts, talents, support, and strength.

As a Health Minister, I can tell you that it is the will of God for you to prosper and be in health. He came that you might have life and have it more abundantly. Sickness, disease, and depression is not what God desires for you. It exists because we live in a fallen sinful world. Don’t stay trapped in a prison of low self esteem. Come out in faith. Trust God for what you need and want, one day at a time. It’s a process and it doesn’t happen over night.

The same God that helped me is waiting and ready to help you. I stepped out on faith and left my church to journey on and discover how and where God wants to use me. Read Psalm 27 and Psalm 23.

Be blessed,

Divine DIVA
