I set out today with one task at hand. Stand out in a group interview. A group interview of fourteen people. It was a pretty reputable company. One of the best in the industry. So why me? I wondered that myself. I contemplated … I have no experience in this industry. So how did I pass phase one and two? Now I’m here at a group interview. These people have degrees, some majoring in this business. I was silent. I tried to take it all in, entirely aware. Some of these people sound fake. Did they cheat their ways to their degrees? Did they copy someone else’s homework? They surely don’t sound educated. I’m confused. I speak, and it’s clear, and concise. I’m surprisingly confident. I have everyone’s attention. The person conducting the interview really looks impressed. My illustrations don’t sound like they were just made up a second ago, or as I speak. Could it be? Before arriving, I spoke to my best friend who gave some encouraging words. It wasn’t “go get ’em tiger,” “break a leg,” or any other cliché out there. It was simply “Nick, you’re the Queen of his heart.” The same is true for all of us. We don’t look to Obama to support us. We don’t look to employers to feed us. We look to God. The one that has always been and always will be. He is the only one that I have known to ALWAYS be faithful. ALWAYS. It will be him to make a way, when there is no way. Yes, even in the “tough economy.” Absolutely while we’re in recession. If he takes care of even the sparrows … meaningless sparrows … how much more will he take care of me? Or you, when we are the “Queens of his heart?”
