I’m an Assassin in My Dreams – What Does It Mean?

I have really dark and twisted dreams. I’ve tried looking up the meanings in dream books, but there aren’t clear-cut analogies for conducting assassin-type warfare in your deep sleep. I kill in order to defend myself from being killed, and it’s usually hand-to-hand combat that begins with an ancient silver sword and ends with my fists (if need be to get the job done).

Just this last week, in my dream, I killed about a dozen people who were the enemies of my several thousand-year-old Japanese gang. My weapon was a beautiful, silver, grim reaper style scythe. It was short, only about three feet long, and I carried it with me on my waist. I had never used the sword before and in defense of my life, had to figure it out quickly in order to beat modern day samurai. The dream ended with me unscathed, but I woke up, as I normally do, thinking, “What the hell?”

Does anyone else have dreams like these? Or have insight into what killing someone in a dream means?

Had a dream vary similar, but set in a more modern Japanese city. My weapon was a large dagger maybe a foot long blade, and i remember killing someone for hire and the cut i made was extremely graphic. I guess it's because i study human anatomy so subconsciously i know what the inside of someones neck looks like more or less. After the person falls to the ground i remember noticing i was in a dream and started freaking out as the person gasped for air cuz i didn't kill them right away, but watched them die slowly as i was to afraid to move.

I have similar dreams. Usually accompanied by taking the souls of the deceased to a halfway station. In the dreams, I'm not myself and have little to no recollection who I really am but when I wake up I remember everything. My husband calls them my "reaper" dreams. I have them quite often.

Silver as a color in dreams can be interpreted as human intuition. The fact that you are using a silver weapon to slay others could be an indication that your intuition will guide you around any attempts made to deceive you. In the beginning you are using a sword, that is your God given intuition. Later you use your fist, this could represent you practically applying what you know intuitively. Apparently someone may be telling you things in your waking life and you have an idea that they are false. Yet you are not sure. Well you are being guided to follow you instincts. The fact that in your dream you had never used a sword before could denote that you are unsure about your instincts and therefore uncomfortable with following them. Perhaps something early on in life caused you to doubt your own judgment. You may be being told to trust your instincts now and you will come out unscathed. Follow you intuition and you can't lose.
