What Your Dream Is Trying to Tell You

Not everyone can remember a dream. For some, that’s a disappointing thing—to have such a wandering mind in a sleeping state with no recollection of it upon awakening.

Sadly, the horribly scary dreams are the ones we tend to remember, though we wish we had not. And everyone loves a dream that makes us laugh out loud so much that it wakes us from sleep. But what happens when the dream is repetitive? A common name for this type of dream is an Anniversary Dream or Anniversary Nightmares. And they may not have to be as pointless as we think.

Of all the dreams to interpret, the anniversary type is the best. Besides all the detail that the dreamer is able to remember, there is the most important part: a lesson to be learned. While I’m no professional, I think our brains are trying to relay information to us. We’d all wonder about ourselves if one side of our brains began screaming out for attention in the middle of the day, but who’s to say that isn’t what’s happening while we sleep?

Dream interpretation is not science, unfortunately, as none of us can ever be sure. However, it’s of great help to many of us to have even the hint of an answer. The best way to recall a dream is to write it down, so perhaps it’s time to start a journal. We tend to remember a lot of detail as we write. Everything is important, from the amount of light in the sky, or the color of the water on the ground, to the food on the banquet table of a feast. Reading through our dreams might trigger the answers we’ve been looking for. Perhaps, once we’ve written the dream, our minds will move on to new dream territory.

If you decide to contact an interpreter, keep a few thoughts in mind. First of all, no interpretation is 100 percent fact. After that, consider these questions: How would she/he like to receive the information? Will the information remain confidential? Do you care about that? Do you want only good news? Can you accept bad news?

Good luck and see you around the clouds!

Heh, speaking of re-occurring dreams.....I always have this one dream anytime my boyfriend is going to do something really dumb that will cause a break-up. Luckily, I've only had it twice. It's so weird, because I always, ALWAYS know. It usually goes that we get into a car wreck as we drive over a bridge at night, and as the car is falling into the water, I call out to them, scared as hell, and they calmly reply, "Just testing, ya, babe." I am almost glad I have it, because there are no shocks. Then again, who wants to know everything will end in two weeks when they think it's all going well? That kind of foreknowledge is a double-edged sword. Dreams can be a blessing and curse.

Loved your article, What Your Dream Is Trying to Tell You. It's so true that writing our dreams helps to remember them, and a close look at the dreams we've written down will often show a pattern, so that we can ascertain just what our subconscious is trying to tell us.
It feels good to write.
