Vegas Vacation (Part 1)

On 16 March, my wife, Bonnie, and I went on a Las Vegas vacation to meet other family members there for a get together, some of which we have not seen for over twelve years.

We flew Frontier Airlines both ways and I have to say it was a most excellent experience in flying and great for first time fliers such as my wife because of the communication between the pilots and crew to the passengers all through the flights. As customers, we felt very welcomed and treated as individuals they wanted to service again. We stayed at the Circus Circus Hotel for the duration of our stay as did most other family members we went there to meet.

After arriving at the airport and riding the subway style shuttle to the exit for city transportation we decided to take a shuttle bus to the hotel.

I have to say that any one who is scared of flying will find the plain trip tame to the aggressive driving skills of these shuttle drivers, but in a city such as Las Vegas this is both expected and required if you want to get to where you’re going in a decent time with the traffic there especially during March Madness when the town is packed.

When we arrived at the hotel, we met my sister-in-law Jayne and quickly checked in.
Our rooms were in the section of the hotel called the Manor Rooms, which were all right in appearance and comfort and supplied with a refrigerator, which became necessity hours later.

We all three of us were hungry for dinner and decided to try the Garden Grill inside the hotel since it was the only real restaurant open this late that wasn’t a fast food chain.
Jayne and Bonnie decided to share one of their monster-sized burgers and I had a double burger with various different cheeses.

The burgers were exceptional cooked just right, to where the meat was just well done but not dry and chewy. We noticed right away that the ground beef patties had to be organic because their flavor reminded us of burgers we ate when we were kids that had a satisfying taste of beef before all the added chemicals we have in meat today that destroys its natural flavor.

The waiter was busy but seemed to get us what we needed well within the realistic limits of time from a customer standpoint.

We talked for a long time catching up with life experiences we had during the many years we did not see each other.

When we got up to our room Jayne assured us she would get us coffee the next morning and bring it to us since she would more than likely be up before us.

Sure enough, there she was with our coffee. We were surprised because she bought a half-gallon size box of coffee at Crispy Cream. I did not even know they had such a size until now.

Jayne looks at me, saying to mention the excellent room service of that woman when I write the review.

This night was the first evening we had a chance to visit with Jayne and Lavone, Bonnie’s mother, so we decided on having dinner at the Garden Grill for their all you can eat prime rib dinner since the burgers were so good.

Once seated after a very short wait our waiter Luis was right on in getting us what we needed. We all had the prime rib dinner and ordered drinks. Jayne and I decided to try the strawberry margarita pitcher; Lavone ordered white zinfandel and Bonnie had a soft drink. Luis was fast with the drinks and before dinner salads. I had the Caesar salad dressing with my dinner salad because I love Caesar dressing made at the restaurant and not a commercial brand. We were not disappointed because the salad dressings were very good not having the over done vinegar in them as so many commercial brands do. My Caesar dressing was just right with the right amount of parmesan cheese and garlic. The bleu cheese was fabulous as was the ranch all made with just the right amount of ingredients and tasting marvelous.
