Spring Trends for Curves: Learning Curves

Curvy girls have always been told that darker colors are slimming and more flattering. We’ve been told to stay away from the brights and patterns. Well, this spring is all about bold and bright, so what’s a curvy girl to do? I’ll tell you what to do—go for it!

Shopping for spring should be fun, not intimidating, and to heck with all this talk of recession, the last thing we need is color repression and wardrobe depression. Here are a few of my favorite spring picks for us curvy chicks!

Bold Color

What better way to brighten up a dull day than with a shot of taxicab yellow? This cropped trench by Michael Michael Kors is a fun accent piece that will work beautifully to brighten up all your wardrobe basics.

How could any curvy fashionista be sad when wearing this DKNY vibrant pink satin trench? This number is fun for day or night and so flattering, you’ll easily forget all about your boring beige or black coat in your closet!

Now is the time to wash away the darker days of winter with a splash of vibrant color like this parrot green shirt from Kiyonna. The neckline will showcase your décolletage, the batwing sleeve is very flattering, and the brilliant hue is so uplifting!

You don’t have to be head-to-toe Crayola to be trendy this spring. You can also incorporate color into your wardrobe by adding some playfully-colored accessories like these fun flats from BarefootTess (a great site for footwear up to size thirteen). This lovely French sole flat comes with a removable ankle strap, giving you twice the style possibilities.

A bag is an easy and fun way to play with color this spring, and there is no shortage of options. I love this not-so-mellow yellow shiny clutch from Maxx New York. Pick a color that makes you happy and just be sure it doesn’t match your shoes!
