What’s the Best Gift You’ve Ever Given or Received?

As I pulled the slender box from under the tree, my mind raced with possibilities. Ripping the paper away, I found a small box of coloring pencils. “Huh?” The attached note read “you fill my life with color, now go fill yours,” and it included a certificate to a local art class, something I’d been feeling too busy to sign up for myself. I burst into tears. What’s your gift giving—or receiving—high point?

By far the TickleMe Plant Greenhouse was the best gift my family ever received for the holidays. In it we were able to grow a real house plant that
1. Moved
2. Closed its leaves
3 Lowered its branches
When Tickled! Minutes later it re-opens ready to be Tickled again!
In a few months it produced cotton candy like flowers.

I love giving gifts, i spend weeks thinking about how to make a special gift for the next special person in my life's birthday our my partner and my anniversary. Usually my speciality is collages. I print pictures that I know are most meaningful to my loved ones and put them all together in a frame. They are always so thankfull and have said they are their best presents. when we emigrated to australia and were weary of the new beginings I got billabong dog tags engraved for my partner which he loves wearing. It had the date we arrived we arrived in Australia and a little message. then Always & Forever at the back. He loved it and wears it all the time. Another gift was a basket filled with everything he could want from his favourite chocolates and underwear to slippers and his favourite dvd and cd. I filled it with a little touch of everything I have learnt since I had met him. He loved that too. I also did this for my 4 brothers and sister in laws as his'n'her gift baskets. :)

Normajo, cofee in bed sounds wonderful, I haven't had that in years.

The best gift I got for the holidays (which I believe also happened to cost the least) was a packet of goal-setting tools from AGoalPlanner.com

I'm going to be graduating college soon and was a bit confused about what I wanted to pursue after school and this helped me to complete clarify my objective. Ended up buying 8 of them for my friends.
Hi,
This is not a gift I gave / received. It was a gift of 'better life' to an old lady from a group of students in Bangalore, India. These guys noticed an old lady who was thrown out of her house by her son & his wife and was being forced to live the life of a beggar outside their house, facing the odds of nature. The guys collaborated, put hands together, spent a part of their time evryday to build her a small cottage, provided her with the regular meals, water, clothes. They took care of her for more than few months till one day she died. Like in movies, it was a happy ending for her life. Proud of my friends, happy they've come up with a team for such things after that and are regularly helping out people around.
Coffee in bed and a vase full of different colored roses from our garden...Mother's day with my husband who is now in heaven.

I was friendly with a young teacher in Ireland who taught in an impoverished area with funds only for basic necessities. I bought art supplies & sent them to Ireland. Soon I received works of art from the kids! I continued to send supplies & would frequently write notes. The teacher would read my notes to the class, which I was told they always enjoyed. They had a map up showing where I live in far-away PA/USA. I was hospitalized & didn’t write for a while.I bought gloves for the kids for Christmas & sent a note explaining I had been ill.The teacher told me the kids were clearly concerned. I received a batch of glove-themed drawings & a get well note from each child. I replied to each note saying something special & encouraging from the letters they'd written me. The teacher sent a note telling me the day the kids received my letters each child read their letter out loud, beaming with pride over my positive personal comments & they all walked a little taller. THIS was my best gift EVER.
The best gift I have ever received was a giant stuffed Nemo, from Finding Nemo. My husband was 18 at the time, carrying a giant orange fish around Walmart for me. It was sweet. The best I have ever given was a shelf that held five pictures. I filled them with pictures of my Mom and my grandfather (who had passed many years before) when she was a child and gave it to my Mom for X-mas. She cried her eyes out and it has been hanging up ever since.

A billfold I gave my sign. other many years ago that was engraved with the letters of the title of our song. It ended up wearing out and I gave him a new one. He has since passed away, but I still have that billfold. I'm Happy Just To Be With You. I love you and miss you Rich.
