Finding Opportunity in New Beginnings

As we come to the close of one year and the beginning of another, I find myself focusing on the incredible power of new beginnings. A new year for many of us signifies an opportunity to start over. This fresh start encompasses every part of our lives; however, it usually begins with our resolutions. We resolve to make little changes or big ones that will benefit us in a fresh new way. This year, why not resolve to be prosperous and financially free?

In keeping with the fresh start, why not make a commitment to wipe clean your financial slate? Pay all your bills, balance your checkbook, or pay of all your credit cards off. I like to start the New Year off with a zero balance on my credit cards. For me, this clears the slate so that I can have a year free of debt. This may no make sense for you, so I encourage you to do what works best for you. In other words, whatever your financial situation, take a moment to clarify your current financial condition and then commit yourself to creating change. It may be something as simple as starting a check register or setting up your first savings account or creating a budget. Whatever your financial situation, you owe it to yourself to start the new year on a good financial foot.
