I can't imagine why you would actually do in one of these places. Those old castles are cool to visit, but to actually live in them does not seem like a pleasant experience... cold and drafty a good part of the year.
I forgot to ask, I wonder what yearly taxes would be on this property, or if perhaps one opens it up to the public for social functions or historical visits, if there would be some sort of tax exemption?
Is this Walton Castle really for sale? I thought it was some sort of B&B or perhaps owned by a historical society now?
my 26 year old daughter and myself and my then husband toured,castle after castle.they are more than words can say.some of the dark ares,and the cold room,that are big enough for a whole house,in some ciities.and all of the fur.is just as big,with a smell that you can't put yur finger on.and don't forget the mountain that you have to climb up to get to them,and the long long long long lines,you have to stand in,just to get in.and even when it is raining,the line keeps growing.hotels,inns,mans.are very easy to get.they are alll,very very nice.and you can't touch anything,after all of that standing,i thought,i might get to sit in the Queens chair,my daughter and i.not so,no touching.pictures are larger then life,it was wonderful,touring overseas.Vita M. king
this person must live in some awful area, because a penthouse in NY could cost significantly more than any of these castles. you'd be lucky to get 2 bathrooms on manhatten for a $1 million.
