This Last Time

When I have laid down broken in tears
Clutching death
It is my fate; so I am told
Or so is whispered to me

When it all becomes too much
And my heart fails me for hope deferred
You are that light within me
That stirs

Tears begin to fall
I don’t like the doctors report
I don’t like having death in the background
You grab hold of me

You bring Voices in my path
That speak of healing
I believe in healing
Yet
Yet ...
I had laid down broken in tears

As I did this last time
So clearly I heard your voice
It said ...
Get up, rise up, you will not lay down
Get up, rise up my child
I came that you may have life and life more abundantly
Breathe

I inhale and stand

Notation : a reflection from the last time, now standing.
