Ben

I was seven when you left
Confused at what you said
So young to understand
Why Mom had to cry like that

Big sister would not let go
Wanting to go with you
Running in her young mind
She might not see again,
the first love of her life.

Times have passed
Things have changed
But still the thoughts of you
Never ceased

Until now, we still wish
To see you in our midst
Time did nothing
To erase the longing

I hope you may read this
And that you will reminisce
The joy that we had
When you were still in our arms.

Hmmmm...who hasn't had a moment or two of loss and longing that never left them? Very well done. Very poignant.
