Vietnam

The war is violent

full of senseless death.

The man must

be feeling pure hell—as he

has never killed before!

Now, his foremost job is to mine

mine fields and kill

as many as possible.

Can his mind

survive this task?

I will never know,

he can’t speak of it.

How can he?

Proud of his Marine Corp career

yet hating every minute of ‘Nam.

Damn mixed emotions

combinations of all

must be

pure

HELL!

Only a strong man can

walk away—never to forget—yet

                                                                                   never to look back

I got chills when I read this one. Lolo, thank you for such a touching piece of work. I'd love to see you do a book. I'd buy it and get one for everybody I know.
It feels good to write.
