I have always been amazed at the words of Saint Paul to the 12,000 or so members of the Church in Corinth Greece; “The manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withall.” He then lists nine supernatural powers, that are available to human beings.
Christ himself; (the greatest miracle worker that ever walked the earth), told us the same thing time and time again. He said that “if we had even a little faith, nothing would be impossible to us. We would do greater things than he did.” That is why after his death, the men and women that were his followers, picked up his mantle and went everywhere performing astounding signs and wonders.
During the revival, that I was honored to be a part of in 1985, I saw each and every one of these powers demonstrated in dramatic fashion. The revival made me realize how impotent the modern church has become; and how far from Christ’s teachings the Church must be. No wonder few of our young people want to attend church. They never see God do anything! I don’t blame them.
Many ministers will tell you that “miracles are a thing of the past.” They are very wrong! They will tell you “not to expect miraculous answers to prayer.” They are wrong! They will tell you that; “if you have cancer you will probably die.” They are again wrong! You do not have to die because you have a disease, no matter what your condition. Heaven has provided all we need to live an abundant, healthy, and wonderful life.
As human beings we are living far below our Spiritual potential. My purpose for writing this series is not to proselytize. My purpose is to get you to think and to prove the existence of an entity, that is so awesome, kind, sweet, and wonderful that he even shares some of his power with us. All he asks in return; is that we use the gifts he gives us to help others.
This past summer, I bumped into a women from my home town named Angie. I was going into the library and she happened to be there. She invited me into her home, but I declined. I did not want to be in a compromising position. Her and I had that problem before and I had no desire to repeat my past mistake.
Then a few days later an amazing thing happened. I had a dream and saw myself in Angie’s home. Although I had never been there, I could see everything clearly. Exactly where the furniture was; each window and door, etc. The next day after work, the urge to go to Angie’s place was very strong. And I did not want to go. However, since it was the summer and her house is only a short walk from my home I said “what the heck” and decided to visit her.
When I arrived, to my utter amazement she introduced me to her fiancé; a minister and bible teacher from here in Plainfield. This made me feel much more comfortable. Now I could relax. We began to have a great time, talking about God, singing, and just having good fellowship.
Suddenly a loud knock came from the door. When Angie opened the door a young girl (who she apparently knew) nearly ran inside. The girl was perhaps fourteen or fifteen years old. I will never forget the look of terror in her eyes. She was so congested that you could hear it from across the large room. She starting asking us to help her, sobbing and explaining that she was being chased by an unseen force. I looked into the hallway and saw nothing, but I did feel an evil presence. Then it got stronger. You knew something evil was there. But whatever it was, it had picked the wrong place to chase this girl into.
