Battle of the Book

I have been enamored with writing since I was a child. I love to write poetry and short stories just for leisure, as it is a great escape for me. I recently decided that I would like to try to write an entire novel. I had a great idea for a storyline and I even built the characters beforehand for a smooth and understandable transition for readers.

I am finding that writing a novel isn’t as easy as I had originally thought it would be. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t expect to write a book and have it published in less than six months, but it is a lot more challenging than I had originally expected. I find myself wondering if what I am writing is good enough to be published and have trashed numerous copies and started over. This is not only frustrating, but kind of a kick to my ego because I thought I was a pretty good writer.

At any rate, I am still working on the book, but I would like to find balance between working my regular job, being a mom and a wife, and going to college as well. Now that I write that down, it seems like I might have a little too much on my plate and I might want to look at clearing some room.
