Introduction | Start Slideshow
They say necessity is the mother of invention. But no one’s ever addressed the inherent subjectivity in the idea of “necessity.” While I don’t find it necessary to have my fork twirl my spaghetti for me, apparently others prefer that this cumbersome task is undertaken on their behalf. It’s arguable that many of these laziness-enabling inventions have more to do with making a quick buck on the back of cheap Chinese manufacturing and the all-American love of never, ever getting off the couch than they do with supply and demand. But that doesn’t mean they’re not fascinating products of ingenuity.
