My first experience with Danny Scheible’s art came at a bar in Sacramento, where I watched him create a series of buildings throughout the night with nothing but deft hands and a roll of tape around his arm. He refers to his unique art as self-generating sculpture.
“I have been building a narrative of myself through my art, and the sculpture I make is its physical form,” he explains. “My work is completely component-based, small pieces making up the whole, nothing larger than a desk lamp, some pieces smaller than a nail.” The sculptures are best appreciated in person, but hopefully these pictures from a couple of his shows will help demonstrate the complexity and originality of his art.
His show at the Fool’s Foundation in Sacramento is called “Universals and Infinities.”

These photos are from a show he did at Oakland’s Front Gallery entitled, “Atlas Losing His Grip on the World.”
