What’s Your Most Memorable Olympic Moment?

Regardless of who receives medals and whose performance disappoints, the Olympics never fail to deliver human drama. The world was stunned when Nadia Comaneci scored her perfect 10, Americans cheered the 1980 “Miracle on Ice,” and our hearts broke as we watched a Parkinson’s-ravaged Muhammad Ali light the torch at the Atlanta games. Elated, infuriating, awe-inspiring, or shocking, what’s the Olympic moment you remember best?

My other most favorite Olympic moment was to find out that the United States won a total of 37 medals. Marking them to be in the record books for the most medals in the Winter Games since 1932. That was awesome to hear about. WTG USA!!!!! Also passing Germany from the 2002 Salt Lake City Games which Germany only had 36 medals won that year, hence USA setting a record of earning as a team 37 medals for 2010.

My most favorite Olympic moment happened Sunday night, the last final night of the Olympics where USA was facing a tough competitor in the Gold Medal Game for Hockey. Canada lashed out the first set of punches which we knew where coming, being such a rivalry and all when it comes to the Winter Games, but it was a gut wrenching final match. My most favorite moment of that game was when USA scored in the last seconds of the 3rd to go into overtime, but then what sucked they fell short of the gold because of Sid Crosby, lucky shot. But the WInter Games were fun to watch

My most favorite Olympic moment happened a few nights ago, when after battling an upper respiratory infection for a week and not feeling much better, my loving husband said "...I'll watch figure skating with you and i won't say a word when you talk about everyone's outfit"...I love him.

My favorite Olympic Sport is Figure Skating. In the Men's skating, my favorite moment was Brian Boitano winning Gold Medals. In the Women's Figure Skating World, Michelle Kwan is my overall favorite because of her
choice of music, and gracefulness.

My most memoriaable Olympic moment was when Nadia Comaneci scored the first perfect ten in the 1976 Montreal Olympics! Rright after the organizer had claimed to use the Perfect machines, digital computer, to record results. The "perfect" machinet failed to record Nadia's perfect 10, by only recording a 1.0 point because the machine was not really for a perfect score. She did it 7 times to beat the machine! Until today remained the youngest All Around Gold Medalist in Olympics gymnastics competition and the most perfect ten scored. She made history, and today her Comaneci Salto still remained as one of the hardest salto in uneven bars for women gymnastics. Nadia's perfection style and technique had revolutionized this sports, but more important she inspired many young people into achieving Olympics golds and in their lifes since then.

When Mark Spitz won the 7 gold medals in the 1972 Munich games.
One of my favorite Olympic moments was when Kristi Yamaguchi won the gold medal--I was rooting for her to win the whole time! I was so bummed when Michelle Kwan fell at the 2002 Olympics, but Shyla's comment reminded me that she still walked away from that with a great performance. Hands down, the most shocking for me was when Nancy Kerrigan was attacked right before the Olympics and it turned out that Tonya Harding was involved. Gee, notice these all involve figure skating? No surprise, my favorite movie as a kid was The Cutting Edge.

I'll never forget when Greg Loughanis banged the back of his head on the diving board in the '88 Olympics. That really freaked me out. The Kerri Strug performance always give me chills - amazing! I'm sure I would've had chills watching the US beat Canada in hockey the other night - if only I could've actually watched it. What's up with NBC airing ice dancing over one of the most talked-about events of the entire Olympics?? Bad choice, NBC!
I always think about watching one of the Russian gymnasts from 1996...the announcers were going on and on and on about how big and tall she was, almost "too big" for the uneven bars. Then they flashed her stats across the screen: 5'1 and under a hundred pounds. Very surreal.
