It is nearing the end of 2008. It has been quite an eventful year undoubtedly. The United States of America is soon to have a black man as their president. Barack Obama (as he is called) will take over from the Bush Administration after being elected in a unanimous, landslide democratic election that occurred in the latter part of this year.
I personally would hate to bear the responsibility of what lies ahead for Mr. Obama. He is taking over at a time of unrivaled economic recession with global financial instability at its all time high. The recession occurred as a result of one of the largest banks declaring itself insolvent due to its reckless lending behavior and the inevitable non-payment of due finances from its debtors. This in turn sparked an exponential downslide of unprecedented financial turmoil, leaving the U.S. in the horrific state that they are currently in.
Furthermore, renewed violence in the Middle East as a result of the ridiculously absurd use of force by the illegitimate state of Israel is an additional issue that Mr. President Elect has to contend with as soon as he is sworn into the presidential seat early next year. It should be noted here that President Bush had opted for a more relaxed and hands-off approach to the Middle East issue in his final months of presidency and allowed Israel to continue with their usurping of land, widespread bloodshed, and unfair resource restrictions contributing to the deteriorating living circumstances of the Palestinian people, as well as the pathetic concentration camp conditions. Mr Obama is expected to bring a long awaited peace to the Middle East region by encouraging peace talks between Israel and Palestine. It has, to the unwelcomed detriment of the Palestinian people and to the fueled anger and hate of the Muslim world, already become evident that Barack Obama is in full support of Israel and wishes to strengthen diplomatic ties between the USA and Israel.
