Eleven Essential Trends We Desperately Need

1. Ethics
2. Common sense
3. Financial education
4. Basic bookkeeping skills
5. Reduction of bank fees
6. Reduce rate of high school dropouts
7. Interest in the study of science
8. Computer security
9. End to high speed chase
10. End slavery
11. Basic human rights throughout the world

With a financial crisis that shook the world and the Bernard Madoff situation that gave a new name to evil, there is an obvious need for a little bit of ethics.

Regulations would do, but if you ask Bernard Madoff to regulate Bernard Madoff, you give him a license to create a Ponzi scheme if he chooses to do so. Actually, he did.

In today’s world, excessiveness seems to have taken ethics and morality hostage. Manorial, ornate, and ostentatious lifestyle, pay-to-play, shady and fraudulent activities with absolute disregard for others, teenagers dropping out of high school, scavengers standing by to eat carcasses of children dying of hunger, banks hoping that consumers forget and spend what they don’t have just to charge consumers more, men raping men in the Congo as a political weapon, and who cares about sciences because we’re busy trying to make money or rip off others on the internet or forcing women to hide behind masks and beat them if they complain, an increasing groups of folks living in the streets whose homes have been foreclosed, forcing retirees to work for Walt-Mart because we allow others to steal their money, mothers strapping bombs around their children because they hate their enemies more than they love their own children those seem to have become the standard. Isn’t it time we reboot?
