Why Are We Fascinated by Casey Anthony?

An imaginary nanny. A suicide attempt. Allegations of incest, sexual abuse, and a series of suspicious Internet searches. At the center of it all, a little girl who died too soon.

The Casey Anthony case was a media circus, with wall-to-wall coverage on television and online. Seats in the courtroom eclipsed Disney to become the hottest tourist attraction in Orlando. Why were we so fascinated by this strange, sordid, and confusing tale? And even though the jury found her not guilty, what do you think really happened? Will we ever know the truth?

I have researched this case a lot. After watching all of the trial online live and after hours and hours of reading, the one person who really put it together the best for me was Cindy's brother, Rick Plesea. Actually, the mother of Cindy and Rick probably have the most information, however she is very old and ill and Rick seems to be a spokes person for the both of them because he speaks to his mom once a week. He has interesting angles on the relationships between the family and activities happening up to Caylees disappearance. The other interesting thing that i read was inspector Melich's personal notes on the case. You can see the notes at http://www.wftv.com/caseyanthony/index.html. The actual details may never come out, but what happened is pretty well established and she did it no question. I guess the only thing that may never be known is what her intent was. She did kill her. It may have been an abusive accident it may have been a way out.

The trial has ended and Casey has been wisked away to a safe place. What amazes me is how no one is out there looking for the "killer". My opinion is this, everyone in that family and I do mean everyone, mom, dad, brother and Casey are all responsilbe for that baby's death. As the saying goes, "they all covered themselves with the same blanket". Someday the truth will come out.

she has to be gulity!
The law has decided what was to be done. No one can do anything else except complain. I got to thinking the other day, the outlandish comments, and threats are like history repeated. Remember how we were told people acted so ignorant with the WITCH HUNTS years ago. Our society has gone too far this time. Get over it, it is said and done. No one can do anything. She will live with her errors the rest of her life, forever and ever. Every waking hour she will be remembering what happened.........

I don't want her moving to Texas cause we have enough heinous crap people like this hurting kids already and I read there are relatives offering to give her shelter in Houston. For God's sake, give us a break! She's not human! she needs a psycho ward if not the death penality - how could a good mother NOT know what is happening to her child?? she was either spaced out or not there which is abandonment, neglect, or worse. I felt she should have gotten jail/prison or the needle. I pray the baby RIP with the angels since she didn't have a chance to enjoy any of this life..

She got away with murder. But what really gets me is she basically admitted that Caylee died by accident and she covered it up (which I believe is a lie) but she gets away with throwing this child body into the woods like trash? If she can't be punished for what she really did, does she not get punished for what she did admit to?

I agree with Timothy. The person who did this heinous crime WILL step in front of THE JUDGE. The Judge will NOT have mercy on that person. That beautiful little girl did not even have a chance to see anything that goes on in this world.

Guilty. As. Sin.

Written all over face, filling every pore, she exudedes guilt becuase she IS guilty, regardless of what twelve sub-intelligent jurors decided at consensus time.

Question. Just the one.

Your child tragically drowns in your pool. What do you do? Ring 911? Yup. That's what normal people who haven't murdered their little darlings do. That poor child ends up dumped the way she was with duct tape over her mouth and turns up six months later? Really? And that was because .... Casey was abused by her father and brother as a child? An O.J. juror admitted they all thought he probably did it, but thought the prosecution "didn't prove it beyond reasonable doubt". He walked. Casey Anthony walked and shame on the U.S. judicial system. Shame on the Canadian system for baby Zachary and his father's killer ....

"Circumstantial evidence" they call it. Like 'Military Intelligence'. 'Conspiracy theorist'. 'Double Jeopardy' and other horrible words.

Someday, the person who took this young girls life will have to stand before a higher power and then be judged for what they did.

Nobody gets away with what they did or do.

We all will stand in judgment for our actions while in the physical form.

Time will be the judge.

I think it's pretty clear that she is shady as hell, a really strange and disturbed person, and probably was not a good parent. But the prosecution didn't have the evidence to show that she willfully killed her child. Everything was circumstantial. In a murder case, the jury has to be convinced "beyond a reasonable doubt," and they weren't. It's a shame, but this is the way our system is supposed to work.
