AIGA: Good Design Makes Choices Clear

AIGA, the professional association for design, asked designers from across the United States to create nonpartisan posters that would encourage the American public to participate in the electoral process, and to vote for a presidential candidate.

The following designs appeared among 50,000 posters created for the 2004 campaign. The initiative which began in 2000, will soon be accepting submissions for this year’s 2008 campaign. Here are some of my favorites to get your ideas flowing. As the AIGA puts it “good design makes choices clear.”

Brian Kelly, NY

Joseph Michael Essex, Chicago

Barry-Enderwick, SF

Huanwu Zhai, Boston

Kristin Adams, Portland

Maviyane Wishbone

Tommaso Fondi, Orlando

@Travis, if you look in the bottom right corner of the one with the letters you'll see faces of Hilter, Stallin, Mao, and Osama Bin Laden. I think its saying that dictators erode our vote as their faces have been removed from the letters.

I am Getting scared of politicans after what Cushand congress have done with striping us of our rights "for our own safety" in case you haven't noticed cameras are becoming quite common place in society. I strong recommend everyone read George Orwell's book "1984" I do believe it will send chills down your spine, think of what the book says and then think about what is happening in our country today. Our public figures have entirely to much power and use it to our detriment.
@Brendan, I never noticed that untill you mentioned it. Good eye. @All, The bottom one doesn't make much since to me... Am I missing what those designs are inside the letters?

Why is the top design make me think that you need a penis to vote? oh what that is because the guy has a penis in the picture.
It feels good to write.
