Pint-Size Pundits: Get Out the Vote Song

Who ever thought a bunch of middle school kids could get Republicans and Democrats to agree on something? Well, the boys and girls at Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta have done just that with a little get-out-and-vote song and dance that’s drawing quite a crowed on YouTube. It’s also been praised by both parties.

They aren’t old enough to vote, but these kids are showing grown ups a thing or two about the partisan politics: how to play nice. How? By replacing words of a rap song with their own little ditty about voting, “Obama on left. McCain on the right. We can talk politics all night and you can vote however you like.” It’s so catchy you just might find yourself singing along. And it’s a great video to your show your kids no matter what their age.

If you think their debate teacher wrote the lyrics think again. Thanks to some good ole fashion study sessions, the kids penned the words all by themselves. While young voters tend to lean toward Obama these minors aren’t all democrats in the making. Several of the kids like McCain. If you haven’t seen it yet check it out. So far, a half-million YouTube hits and counting.
