You hit the nail on the head about the Asian mode of communication. As an Asian born female in Corporate America, I struggle constantly to ask for what I need using active voice directives! (Anyone familiar with MoJo JoJo on the Power Puff Girls will understand how silly the "asian" passive voice sounds in translation.) English to Asian translation: Perhaps there should be a button following each article politely labeled, "You may find this article enjoyable and informative. May I humbly recommend this if you should get time to look it over?" in place of the "I like it" option.
It feels good to write.
