Snackbot Takes the Work Out of Snacking

When 4 p.m. hits my office, you can hear a soft rumble pass by cubicles, the lull of dozens of stomachs crying out for snacks. Unfortunately, hunger doesn’t care about piles of paperwork or to-do lists growing longer by the minute. But at the same time, how can we concentrate on tasks at hand when our minds are clouded with thoughts of food? This is why the invention of Snackbot—a robot designed by researchers at Carnegie Mellon University that delivers ordered snacks to faculty and students—is so genius.

According to this official video, it was “made to be a research platform for human interaction,” but most importantly, it brings goodies to people too lazy and/or busy to make the trip themselves. “I’ve always dreamed of delivering snacks to everyone,” Snackbot claims. Funny, I’ve always dreamed of a robot delivering snacks to me! Every office should invest in one of these—sure, it’ll probably increase waistlines, but hey, it might increase productivity, too.

I would love Pete's coffee robot! It could make my latte every morning.
I like the way you think, Jezebel Spirit! Except I'm putting it on my own Christmas list! Don't want anyone else hogging all the snack goodies...
Forget about getting one for the office. I want to give one to my husband for christmas, and maybe then I'll have time to relax at home.

Can Snackbot guarantee the cookies I request are still warm and gooey from the oven? If so, put me down for one.
