Watching singers perform together can often feel like viewing art in motion. It’s hard to tell what’s more moving—the pitch-perfect harmonies floating in and out of our ears or the emotionally charged expressions on each singer’s face. Of course, when you’re looking at the inside of their throats instead, it looks less like art and more like an alien invasion. These four singers had small cameras pulled through their noses and down their throats to film what their vocal chords look like when they belt out a tune. The effect isn’t pretty—and can be pretty cringe-worthy if you’re squeamish—but it’s strangely graceful. When even your throat puts on a fascinating, albeit Predator-esque show, that’s the mark of a true entertainer.
