Anyone who knows me know I love hot sauce; the hotter  better, although I don't turn up my nose at the milder types. Tabasco sauce is probably the best known hot sauce in the United States, but California has it's own home grown hot sauce made in Gilroy, the self proclaimed "Garlic Capital of the World."

I loved The Pepper Plant Sauce the minute I tried it. Thick and a reddish brown color, The Pepper Plant sauce has a wonderful roasted pepper-spice taste that will appeal to just about everyone. It's tangy and just hot enough to be the perfect on scrambled eggs, tacos or anything that needs a subtle heat that adds taste and spice without obliterating the taste of the rest of the food. I love it so much I keep a bottle at work and have managed to convert several of my co-workers. My favorite way to eat it: on top of an egg microwaved with spinach and a 2% cheese slice, atop a light multi-grain English muffin. It's a great, easy, work breakfast and you won't be hungry until lunch.

A bottle is about $6 for 10 ounces. It's available at most grocery stores. I see it at my local market and also at Safeway and Whole Foods. If you can't find it, go to http://www.thepepperplant.com which the site a store locator and a shopping section.

I just bought this less than a week ago and I've already gone through half the bottle. Clearly I need to buy in bulk! Thanks for the recommendation! This is my new favorite hot sauce. I think I'll try the Chipotle flavor next time.

Hi Veronica, I love hot sauces, on just about everything. And all of us in my family have built a really good tolerance for spicy heat. There is always a bottle of Sriracha sauce in our home, and we go through them like crazy. So, thank you for giving us yet another hot sauce to try. I will let you know what the consensus here on that is. :)
