Are you currently working from home or looking into work-at-home opportunities? Thinking of starting your own business, or want to telecommute or find a job you can do from home? I just finished reading The Work at Home Success Bible: A Complete Guide for Moms written by Leslie Truex. I have been working from home for the past six months to start my own business. Everything in this book is right on target and, based on my own experience, would break the information into three categories:
1. “Amen sister” – Leslie is writing about what she has lived and much of her advise affirms what I have experienced and offers good advice about keeping to a schedule, avoiding scams, and how to work at home to achieve your life goals.
2. “Yes. I do need to work on that” – There are many things I already knew I should improve, but like she’s looking over my shoulder, The Work at Home Success Bible confirmed that I need to do a better job keeping work and non-work time separate, getting better organized, and having an efficient work space.
3. “Ah ha. I need to do that too” – Leslie also offers advice and references to help market and expand your business. This info is critical to completing the success model to not only know how to work from home, but how to make it profitable.
The Work at Home Success Bible: A Complete Guide for Moms is a practical guide to working from home, regardless if you are working for yourself or someone else. It’s not a “let me tell you how to get rich” book; it sets realistic expectations on the pros and cons of working from home, how to avoid the many work-from-home scams, how to find the right job for you, and, finally, how to execute and make it happen.
If you are considering working from your home (or already work from home), you need to read this book.
