Like the Beatles Song Says, “There Will Be an Answer ... Let It Be”

Today we’re going to talk about how to get unstuck from a problem. Our minds are very tricky characters. We think that our mind has all the answers. When in truth, if we don’t know the answer right now, our mind is not the place to find it. When the mind has the answer, it gives it to you right away. For example, ask yourself what’s your name. You know your name. The mind gave you your answer. But when you don’t have an answer to a problem immediately, it’s futile to keep going to your mind for the answer. It’s like going to an empty file cabinet expecting to find answers and the file is gone! Nothing is there.

That’s why when you have a problem you have to let go. Have you ever been in a vicious circle with a problem? It works like this: You’ve got this problem. You become insecure because you don’t have an answer. You try to figure things out. You want to know what to do. You want to know what the answer is. So you try harder. You aren’t getting the results you want so you start beating yourself up. You disapprove of yourself. So then you beat yourself up so more. You keep holding onto the problem, you become more insecure and you go around and around in the circle still with no answers. Why?

The reason is that your mind is creative. It only can create from the thoughts that you are feeding it. So when you approach your problems wanting answers, the mind can only create more wanting. “Want” is the most negative word in the English language. Here is the definition of “want”: a state of extreme poverty, deprivation, privation, impoverishment, poorness, poverty—the state of having no money and few or no material possessions.

So the next time you go to your mind and want answers that it doesn’t have, remember that because the mind is creative, whatever thoughts you give to it become the paint that can create a picture. That picture can be filled with positive things, or we can create a picture of messy, dreary frustrating colors of poverty, poorness, or a state of having no money.

The key is to let go of the lacking feeling. Let go of disapproving of yourself. Let go of wanting to think. Let go of beating yourself up for not having the answers. Stop going to the empty file cabinet for the solution; give yourself some love and approval. Hold only in your mind, which is there to create, thoughts of having the answers, thoughts of how you’d like things to be. Thoughts of what you love. Thoughts of being at peace. Thoughts of happiness and joy. You will see how quickly your mind goes to work to create those experiences for you. The problem solves itself. You end the vicious cycle and you get to have the answer. You get to be happy just by letting go! Remember, “there will be an answer … let it be ... let it be.” —Beatles
