Due to a massive power outage yesterday from Arizona to the Mexican border, I was stranded in Detroit. Our plane was grounded. Thankfully, Delta Airlines put me up at the Best Western Hotel near the airport with free room, free breakfast, and free Wi-Fi. Not bad considering there was cable TV added to the mix. Exhausted, and without underwear, makeup, or toiletries, I feel asleep quickly. The king size bed was comfortable, and the room, quiet. All in all the experience was as pleasant as could be under the circumstances. I was rebooked on a flight today at 12:30 p.m. Not a nonstop like my original flight, but I will be home by late afternoon if all goes well. As I read the updates on the power outage on this computer I was a little more encouraged but worried about all the food in my refrigerator and two freezers. The weather has been unbearably hot I have been told. I cannot wait to sleep in my own bed. If the power is still off at least I have flashlights and candles and the stove is gas.
