So how often throughout the year have you awakened to feeling like you just can’t get out of bed? Feeling as if a lead blanket of laziness is holding you down to the mattress; continuously hitting that alarm clock snooze button. Majority has to say yes or just face subconsciously that you are being dishonest to self. Finally, giving in to the hardest part of any morning which is getting out of bed to prepare for a long day of whatever the daily duties are; especially, for the single mothers (not excluding single fathers unless you feel the urge to put on makeup and accessorize) who have to rise up from the crack of dawn to get everyone aligned for the day.
At times we hit our discouragement moment when we need to get ready and “all dolled up” for our day; we are too tired, drained, let alone do we want to put on makeup and get all fancy for long hours. Believe me I understand as single mother of three kids, full-time college student, forty-hour employee, after school activities, exercising, friends, and trying to have a sociable dating life. I personally, found myself, for several months falling downward from always being fashionably dressed, makeup, hair, shoes, accessorized, purses, you name it. It was like why all this just for work and school, some nights not ending until I actually walked through the front door at 10:00 p.m. To feeling exhausted and not even motivated to put on anything. You figure maybe a brush through your hair and I’ll be okay for the day wearing these decent-looking “don’t need to be ironed” pants and shirt.
As young girls, we are reared that beauty is from within and we hear all the critics from others whether it is men or women, how makeup is a mask and clothes don’t make us who we are. Well I am here to say although yes, materialistic things don’t make us who we are; however, when you feel that draft of negativity energy creeping on you just take one good look in the mirror. It helps to polish and surface our inner beauty, qualities, and motivate the hell out of some positive energy. Motivation comes from within and self-image as well as how well you feel. Once you start moving, apply that first base of foundation, take another look in the mirror, apply a stroke of blush, take another look at own reflection, maybe even swipe of bronze eye shadow, lip-gloss, and mascara. Before you know it even if it is close to a natural look application, you are reaching for a pair of earrings and possibly bracelet or necklace.
Positivity and motivation come from other factors played into life from health, exercise, beliefs, diet, habits, fun, friends, family, and the list could go on running off the pages. The thing is all these play into a mold with how your sensation is as a person, if you look good you will feel good. Often the statement, “first impression is everything” is tossed around for first meets, interviews, and dates. Well, in this case if you look like crap … you will just feel that, like crap. Don’t be scared to put in the extra effort to get ready when you are extremely exhausted and wear it all with a smile. Guaranteed your day will go well and you will sense positivity seeping in. Materials don’t make us but they can save the day to our glimmering shine. Trust me, when I say confidence, outlook, positivity, smile, and glow makes sexy!
