Why the “Ultimate Celebrity” Isn’t So Ultimate

Have you heard about the most beautiful woman in the world? She’s got Angelina Jolie’s lips, the Duchess of Cambridge’s luscious curls, and Keira Knightley’s cheekbones—literally. The “ultimate celebrity” is a composite image of the most lusted-after celebrity features created by FeelUnique.com. She’s attractive, in that Frankenstein’s bride kind of way, but she’s also a little eerie. Even scarier than her cobbled-together appearance is what it says about our society that we’ve generated a fake celebrity to display the true meaning of beauty. We are so obsessed with beauty and looks that normal celebs are no longer attractive enough to us. No, we must create our own faux celebrity to stare at googly-eyed as we say “ooh” and “aah” like spectators looking at a piece of art. Sure you’re beautiful, but why not be perfect? Yeah, you’ve got awesome eyes Cheryl Cole, but your nose is not right, therefore you just don’t make our cut.

In an age when plastic surgery is on the rise and women are striving to look like Barbie dolls, a new, completely unattainable ideal is not what we need; we need to be celebrating natural beauty in all of its different incarnations. After all, beauty that is virtually altered is not true beauty—it’s a fembot waiting to shoot bullets out of her boobs.

What do you think? Is this fictional celeb the most beautiful woman in the world or do these famous features look better on their rightful owners?
