I am, and always will be, the most dedicated friend anyone could ever have. I am there any hour, day, or night. I listen to problems; I celebrate even the smallest accomplishments. The fact of the matter is I love being there. I love being able to help my friends (or anyone for that matter.)
Today, I spent my morning like any family counselor. I listened to the problems of multiple friends, for nearly five hours, offering my advice to the best of my abilities. Thing is, I have no degree in this area; in fact, the only expertise in this area I have is a semester of General Psychology in college.
If I had to pick one quality about myself that I like about me (and for me to say I really admire something about myself is saying something) is that I help people. I spend a lot of my time listening, advising, and just being there for more people than I can count.
I find it rewarding to be able to give someone my perspective in any way that I can help. I'm always there any hour any day. This is exactly why that is what I plan to do for a living (once I can get into school that is.) In the meantime, I am helping those that come to me with their issues.
If ever you need a shoulder to cry on, a friend to pat your back, an encouraging word in a time of struggle or simply just someone to talk to; I'm here, friend extraordinaire, no charge, no Ph.D. required.
