Embracing the Single Life

Being single is not easy, but with some of these tips, you can learn to live in more comfort and embrace the single life.

Adjusting to a new way of life is always hard when you have to do it alone. If you take the right attitude about being single, this time in your life could mean a lot of things. The reason so many single people are unhappy is because they depend and count on someone else loving them. Believe it or not, loving yourself is harder than loving a new person. You can’t reject yourself because of an unattractive personality flaw or intimacy issues. So use this time to love yourself and embrace this chapter in life.

Listed below are tips on how to embrace you as a single person! Take this time to nurture yourself and try and have fun!

  1. Keep yourself occupied. Staying home alone makes your singleness worse. Get out there and interact with other people.
  2. Focus on what you feel passionate about and set goals to do them.
  3. Embrace every opportunity to grow, learn more about yourself, and become more conscious.
  4. Pick a country or a destination you have always desired to visit and fulfill that dream!
  5. Be open and spontaneous in the dating game and don’t say no to being set up or trying new ways to meet people!
  6. Have faith and work with the universe to attract what you want.

Whether you are newly single or have been single for a while, new challenges will present themselves. Work on taking care of yourself and developing your sense of self to rejuvenate and get ready for a new relationship. Remember, life is short; try and live every day to the fullest.

Hi Rachel - Excellent article! I gotta tell you though, for me, being single is about a hundred times easier than being married. And frankly, the reasons for that are pretty much as you listed. I have a good relationship with myself, and that matters. There was a line from one of the Road Warrior movies (I know, I know, bear with me) that said "No matter where you go, there you are." Now it was said in a way to be funny, but the line itself says a lot. Basically, you can't escape yourself. If you are your own worst enemy, then you are doomed. If you don't like yourself, then you got a big problem. If you don't trust yourself, then prepare to betray yourself, because, "No matter where you go, there you are." So maybe "you" should learn to like yourself and be good to yourself, whoever "you" may be.
It feels good to write.
