My Dating Highlights

It was my first real date and I was eighteen. I had fifty bucks in my pocket. I took her to a nice bar and grill. She ordered the most expensive item, thirty-seven bucks! I had to order from the kids menu so I still had enough for an impressive tip. She didn’t even eat that lobster!

She said, “I see you’re left-handed.” I said, “All the smart people are.” Then I asked her what hand she used. She said, “I’m right-handed.”

She was thirty-two, I was twenty-two. The date lasted six hours. We had dinner at a brewery, listened to music at a lounge, then went dancing at a bar. I had a beer at each place but nothing excessive. I offered to get her a drink each time but she said she was okay. At the end of the night I offered again and then she told me she was a recovering alcoholic. I guess she had a good time; she wanted a second date.

I had class with a woman who was absolutely beautiful. I was shy and awkward, but I told myself I did not want to be an old man regretting that I didn’t have the nerve to ask her out. I didn’t know her name so after class I asked my teacher. After the following class I met up with her in the hallway and asked her out. My teacher gave me the wrong name.

A couple years later I went to a friend’s class and took notes since they could not make it. I got wind that a girl in the class thought that was really sweet. That girl happened to be the chick I called the wrong name. Man she was gorgeous. She wanted to show off her new Mustang so she said she would pick me up. When she got out of her car all I could think about was that she looked like a clown. Why do women go crazy with makeup?

I met a girl online who seemed really down to earth and kind. She spoke Mandarin and had a degree in finance. She was vague on what she did for a living, though. Then she told me she was a model in New York. In my head I thought okay, she does a little modeling, doesn’t everyone. After a couple weeks she made a comment about one of her friends who was really humble. The name was Adriana Lima. For shits I Googled it. She was the head model for Victoria’s Secret. After that comment I figured she was making it up and joked what would happen if I Googled you. She said I’d like you to get to know me before you read about me. After a few more days she gave me her name. I Googled it and a picture came up of her, Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Tyra Banks at a basketball game. I also read that she was the head model for a famous makeup company in 2006. All my friends and family said whoever I was talking to was obviously lying. So I set up a date. It was her. She was really nice but there wasn’t a connection. I went on a date with a supermodel. I like this story.

I went on a date with a woman and had a great time. At the end of the date I gave her a hug and as I walked away I told her she was a unique woman. Man I should have kissed her ...
