I made a mistake once, about two years ago ... on Valentine’s Day. I was feeling bored being dateless at home so I decided to go to the mall BY MYSELF to buy me a nice dinner. What I saw was like a scene from the Twilight Zone ... EVERBODY was walking around in pairs! To make matters even worse ... I know a lot of those couples in there! You would think a mall that big would have at least some people walking by themselves ... but nooooo. So I resigned from that day onward that on every Valentine’s Day, I shall HIDE!
I was actually thankful that I was on duty in the hospital on Valentine’s Day (we even joked to the women in labor to go out and have a nice dinner first). At least I didn’t get to experience the craziness this year again. And it gave me something to do instead of missing my boyfriend living in another country. But I was single long enough to feel the pressure during Valentine’s Day. But on the day of hearts and love ... it’s not just about loving somebody special. It’s also about loving YOU too.
