I finished reading for one and a half hours the book of Rissa Singson-Kawpeng entitled Confession of an Impatient Bride just the other day. As I read the pages, I reflected on my own self as I go along with my own struggle of waiting for the right man at the right time at the right place. Because that’s how God works in a mysterious way we cannot imagine
The author herself had gone a different struggle of knowing God’s plan, and finally she went down on aisle at age thirty-eight, two years ago. This year she gives birth to a beautiful baby girl. I was inspired.
As I read the book I cried most of the time; I felt that God was speaking to me at the same time. With that, I wanted to share some of the lessons I learned.
1. Fill your love tank so you may also love and share more with other people.
2. Embrace your family as they get older and take note of the wisdom they share as you grow older.
3. When the world left you, there’s always your sister and family to hug you back.
4. You’re ideal man never comes to life; it’s only a figment of your imagination. You always end up the man that God plans for you. (And later you’ll say to yourself, this the one that I need.)
5. God allows you to experience heartaches so that you mature in the next relationship.
6. Always be joyful of what life comes to you, no ifs, no buts, that’s exactly where God puts you.
7. Serve him with all your talents, time, and treasures, go beyond extra mile and get out of your comfort zone.
8. Listen to your older auntie or old friend when she’s referring you to meet someone, God uses people to meet your soon to be groom.
9. Be beautiful always inside and out, taking healthy foods, right attitude, and habit.
10. And finally, be wise in handling your financial matters. (You’ll know you’re really a good catch.)
Praying to be a bride soon.
