During the fall of 2010, WAVE Journey enjoyed the distinct pleasure of experiencing a “sampler platter” of Brendan Vacations’ Small Group Discoveries in Ireland. Brendan, with a long and successful history of helping travelers discover the world, is set to launch a new opportunity for those travelers desiring a more upscale, escorted vacation with no more than twenty-four guests.

WJ tripped with both Brendan’s president, Nico Zenner, and Catherine Reilly, director of Brendan Vacations Ireland. Our small group comprised twelve people, including a few other journalists and travel writers and our professional Irish guide/driver, Martin. 

“Intimate,” “immersive,” and “experiential” is how Brendan defines its Small Group Discoveries. Our abbreviated five-day itinerary certainly gave us a sumptuous taste of what Brendan has in mind in achieving its goal of a more intimate experience. 

From fantastic and unique lodging venues to quaint local pubs to out-of-this-world dining experiences, WJ was bowled over by  Brendan’s attention to detail and to sourcing out Irish gems for us to revel in, stay in, dine in, and drink in! These folks know the locals and know what travelers want out of a more intimate experience, and then create a Small Group Discoveries tour that combines all thsee elements.
