Oysters Kilpatrick

Despite the fact that this may make oyster purists’ hairs stand on end, you may wish to throw some bivalves on the barbie for summer festivities. This is a classic Australian recipe.

OYSTERS KILPATRICK

Ingredients:

  • A dozen oysters on the half shell
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Melted butter
  • Cooked bacon bits
  • Chopped chives or shallots

Directions:

  1. Spread out the oysters.
  2. Drizzle about a half a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce (and a little melted butter if you like extra decadence) into each shell.
  3. Lay the oysters on the grill and cook until the Worcestershire starts to bubble.
  4. Sprinkle with cooked bacon bits and chopped chives or shallots.
  5. Slurp your way into heaven.
