Green Beans with Toasted Almonds
1 Lb Green Beans
Olive Oil or Butter
2 Tablespoons slivered Almonds, or to taste
Salt and Pepper
Pre-heat a frying pan over high heat. When hot, add almonds shake pan until nuts are golden brown. Remove from heat immediately and take nuts out of the pan. Don’t let the nuts scorch! You can also roast the nuts in an oven, but if you use the pan you can then use the pan for the green beans. (Fewer pans to clean that way)
Steam the green beans until they are crunchy and a lighter shade of green. In the frying pan, heat a small amount of olive oil or butter. Add cooked green beans and almonds and toss until the green beans wilt just a bit. Remove from heat and test seasonings. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serves 4.
