No Fail Gingerbread

For amateur bakers, this no-fail gingerbread recipe is the perfect way to amaze and impress holiday guests with your new-found culinary prowess. Even if picky friends and family members have been skeptical of your talent in the past, this ideal recipe is guaranteed for baking success.

Ingredients

½ cup butter

½ cup sugar

One egg

2 ½ cups flour

1 ½ teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon ginger

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup honey

1 cup hot water

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in microwave or on stove top. Next, beat sugar and egg together before adding the butter. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and salt. Alternate adding the three mixtures (dry ingredients, honey, and hot water) until blended. Finally, add mixture to a greased loaf pan and bake for one hour at 350 degrees. Let cool, cut into slices, and enjoy! Drizzle or top it with white icing for a wintery look.
