EO Organics

I love the smell of rose geraniums, and I have a big bush of them in my backyard. Rose geranium has been used in the production of perfume for generations, and its smell is distinctive—sweet and spicy at the same time.

EO Organic Rose Geranium and Citrus Body Wash The citrus gives the body wash a nice boost and makes it a perfect “wake me up” in the morning shower. What I really like about this wash is that it’s not too strong. I have asthma; in the morning, an overpowering scent will send me off on the wrong lung. EO’s scent doesn’t cling overwhelmingly to you—after your shower, it leaves just a faint hint of geranium and lemon. I find this to be true of all EO’s products; maybe it’s because they’re organic, and don’t contain any artificial ingredients. I never have any type of asthmatic reaction when I use them (which is unusual for me).

EO Organic Rose Geranium and Citrus Body Lotion The Rose Geranium and Citrus Body Lotion is also a favorite of mine. Light and gently scented, it goes on smoothly and sinks into the skin quickly. It’s the perfect before-bed lotion. I can fall asleep with a lovely soothing scent that doesn’t leave me feeling like I’ve somehow put on too much scented lotion and have managed to grease up the sheets, too.

EO Organic Lavender Hand Sanitizer I take public transportation to work every day, so I’m always using hand sanitizers! Since I began using hand sanitizers, I haven’t caught as many colds, so I think they really work. My two big complaints about most commercial sanitizers are that they leave me smelling like rubbing alcohol (which I hate), and they dry out chapped winter hands (I am before-bed lotion: I can fall asleep inhaling a lovely soothing scent, but not feeling like I’ve greased up either myself or my fresh sheets with too much scented lotion. not admitting to having those!). EO’s organic product smells great—it’s not too pungent, and not so cloyingly sweet that I remind everyone of her great grandma. The packaging is recyclable apothecary blue plastic, a nice visual change from the usual clear packaging. The product comes in either a two-ounce squeeze container or an eight-ounce pump.

EO Organic Jasmine Hand Cream After I became addicted to EO’s Lavender Hand Sanitizer, I moved on to the company’s Jasmine Hand Cream. It has a light jasmine scent, so it won’t clash with the other perfumes or lotions you’re wearing. Like most hand creams, its texture initially feels a bit heavy, but if you take care to rub it in thoroughly, it doesn’t feel greasy. The Jasmine Hand Cream comes in EO’s signature recyclable blue packaging, in a two-ounce squeeze tube.

EO products are available at a variety of organic food stores and online. Amazon sells bulk packages of EO products at a good price, a good thing to know if you’re like me, and want hand lotion at the desk, by the bed, and beside the kitchen sink—especially during the winter.
