Daily Grommet loves to serve up style and function and they’re both on today’s menu.
Kitchen aprons may typically conjure up images of Bree Van de Kamp and Sunday roasts, but we’ve found these funky aprons from Funktion that aren’t nearly so prim and proper. They look so good you may not want to take them off when company arrives—and they just might inspire you to do some “al fresco” cooking, if you’re feeling adventurous.
The printed fabrics create a patchwork of colors with an eclectic, shabby chic vibe. Creator Tara Lynch ran a home furnishings store but wanted something stylish to wear in the kitchen. She began working with her college roommate, Raquel Rothermund. The two put their heads together to come up with a collection of signature designs.
The names of the Funktion aprons celebrate their vintage inspirations—Hazel, Celia, Adeline and Scarlet—but there’s nothing dated about these hip, sassy, and wonderfully vibrant aprons.
