“The only time to eat diet food is when you’re waiting for the steak to cook.”
- Julia Child
For yours truly, there is no better way to wind down a glorious weekend than indulging in a luxurious Sunday brunch. Today’s recipe is one of my most favorite brunch foods from one of my favorite brunch places.
Brioche French toast from NYC’s Balthazar brasserie.
When cooking, I always feel the need to personalize the recipe. So, my sweet tooth had me slip a few teaspoons of vanilla in the mix and my citrus addiction had me add a dash of orange zest to the pan. Yum! And with some powdered sugar, organic sliced bananas and a hearty side of Niman ranch bacon, we were on our way to a heavenly food coma.
Here’s to food that’s good for the soul.
