Honey Butter Garlic Cheddar Biscuits

I know what you’re thinkin’ before you have a chance to say it, “What the hell! Honey butter and garlic cheddar cheese ... in biscuits. Ughh!” But wait ... the combination, believe it or not, is damn good. The contrast of flavors incorporated gives a sensation of pleasure to the palate. Through following my method of procedure, the final product will be a pleasant surprise and an unique baking experience, and the smell of them baking is totally awesome ... plus the garlic is good for purifying the blood stream and keepin’ the ol’ blood pressure in check.

Ingredients:

One 20 ounce Bisquick baking mix (follow box instructions for amount of eggs and milk)

8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons fresh garlic puree’ (use food processor to puree’ garlic with a tablespoon of olive oil added)

4 ounces unsalted butter

4 ounces honey

One large cooking spoon

One large mixing bowl

One small mixing bowl (microwave compatible)

One small basting pastry brush

One large non-stick baking sheet pan (or a greased large cookie baking pan)

Procedure:

1. Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.

2. In the large mixing bowl, combine the eggs, milk and garlic puree’, whisking together thoroughly. Then, fold in shredded cheddar cheese. Now slowly add the whole box of Bisquick while constantly stirrin’ with the cooking spoon (just enough to completely incorporate ... don’t over mix or you’ll end up with tough biscuits.

3. When forming the biscuits, make ’em big using the ol’ teardrop method, spooning the biscuit dough onto the sheet pan in 3 inch diameter/1 inch thick portions. Give ’em plenty of space in between each portion, therefore allowing them room to grow and bake fully separated from one another.

4. Bake the biscuits for 20 minutes at 375 degrees in pre-heated oven.

5. While your biscuits are baking, put your butter and honey together in a small microwaveable bowl and nuke it for 30 seconds (just long enough to soften the butter, making it easy to whisk it into the honey, creating a sweet creamy solution).

6. Now as soon as the baked biscuits come out of the oven, baste ’em heavily with honey butter, letting it absorb in real good. Coat the biscuits tops using a pastry brush, applying the honey butter ‘til it glistens and shines, then everything will end up coming out fine.
