If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
I’m very happy with how The Traveler turned out. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
There’s this deep ... something. Not sure what I can call it. Maybe a desire to express, a desire to create something. With love.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
The most challenging part for me is to actually sit down and start to write. That and some days when the story just refuses to move forward.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
Neil Gaiman. His words and stories dance on that thin blade between the ordinary and the strange.

What was the hardest part of writing your book? When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
The hardest part of the book was to simply allow the book to create itself rather than try to force it to be a certain way. You know your story wants to exist as badly as you want it to and you simply have to let go a lot of times.

The Traveler is my first published work and it is only now that I am realizing that maybe I should do more of this.

How long does it take you to write a book?
For The Traveler, it is a very short poem so I did it in one sitting. But for my other stories it varies. A short story sometimes is written over a weekend but a longer one or a book can take a few months to a year.

What is your work schedule like when you’re writing?
I’m not really that disciplined but I work well at night. Generally after the kids are in bed. A couple of hours or as long as it takes.
