Q: Let’s talk about your tours. How did that get started?
Brianna: When we finished the book we presented it at a meeting of school librarians. We explained why and how we wrote it and they immediately wanted us to talk to the students.
Brittany: We really want to let kids and teens know, that you can overcome your challenges and to believe in your dreams. We don’t charge schools when we go, many authors do, we really just want to inspire as many kids as possible.
Jeff: Once the girls presented to one school it was like wild fire, more and more schools wanted them.
Q: What kind of response have you had from young people while touring?
Brittany: That is the best part, kids and teens listen to our story. We all have challenges that we must face, and to each of us, that challenge can seem insurmountable at times. To be the ones that provide living proof of making a dream come true is the most rewarding feeling you can imagine.
Brianna: We have kids and teen authors contacting us for advice on writing and publishing all the time. It is incredible be able to talk and help them.
Jeff: There is something special about kids/teens talking to other kids/teens rather than a teacher or an adult. It makes a greater impression and seems more real …
Q: Did you ever imagine that you would be the youngest award-winning novelists when you started writing?
Brianna: No.
Brittany: NO WAY!
