What in the world is more delightful than a recipe that contains chocolate and isn’t full of fat? This is the best chocolate brownie recipe I’ve tasted (well, excluding the Betty Crocker brownie mix out of a bag).
Ingredients:
6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips or carob chips
1 tablespoon butter
3/4 cup quick oats
1/3 cup unsweetened toasted wheat germ
1/3 cup non-fat powdered milk
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
4 large egg whites or 2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup raw sugar or granulated sugar
Directions:
1. Melt chocolate chips and butter in the microwave for 50 seconds, stirring occasionally until completely melted. Set aside.
2. Combine the dry ingredients, except for sugar, in a bowl.
3. In another large bowl, beat egg whites with sugar and vanilla until it becomes slightly thick.
4. Stir in chocolate mixture, next stir in the dry ingredients.
5. Spray an eight-inch square baking dish with cooking spray, then spread the mix onto it.
6. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes, or until edges are firm.
7. Cool for 10 minutes before cutting into bars.
