Life’s Journey

I begged for my life and our kids, thankfully he listened and never killed us. He finally left and the divorce was final eight months later. I was single mom for over six years. Those years were tough years, which forced me to examine myself and help work thru some self-esteem issues I had. I guess you could say I found the person who I wanted to be. My sons suffered a lot emotionally because they didn’t have a dad around. I did eventually fall in love and marry a man who definitely is my soul-mate. He raised my sons as his own and gave them his name. We had two more children, two girls. The youngest we lost at the age of three. Again, life was very painful and difficult but somehow we made it through together, closer than ever.

Now as our youngest heads to college, I remember all those years of happiness and sorrow. It was truly a wonderful time and I have learned a lot of important lessons. I wouldn’t have change minute of it because all of those experienced and mistake have helped me become the woman I have become today, Stronger, wiser and eager for the next challenge.

For the first time in our married life, there will be no children in our house. This is our time to do what we want to and now I walk on to the next fifty years.
