I believe my son might graduate this year after all. He failed last year by one-point-five credits on purpose to stay in school with his underclassmen girlfriend. Of course the guidance counselor let him schedule the major English course for the last semester of the year. He could have took the course the first semester and graduated in January, and saved me $3,000.
My son Jason started to pull the same thing again this year by not turning in his final report for English. The English report was worth 150 points and due May 9th. I found out he was scheduled for a field trip May 9th, and called the school. I told the principal that Jason should not be permitted to go on the field trip until the report was turned in. The principal called back the next day to tell me he turned in the report. He got a 75 percent on it so he is going to pass the course and graduate.
I went to a teacher’s conference and his English teacher said that Jason should be taking college courses, he’s that smart. Jason had drama the first two semesters and the drama teacher told me that she taped all the plays and will copy them to a DVD and send them to me. I can’t wait to see them. I’m going to his graduation whether he likes it or not. Graduating is a once in a lifetime event and I’m not going to miss that for him.
